Renaissance myON® Reader is a student-centered, personalized literacy environment that gives students access to more than 6,000 enhanced digital books. Titles are dynamically matched to each individual student’s interests, grade and Lexile® reading level. Combined with a suite of close reading tools and embedded supports, myON Reader fosters student engagement and achievement.
- Educake Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English and Science.
Educake provides online homework and revision for KS3 and KS4 English and Science. It’s based on a bank of thousands of specification-mapped questions. They’re automatically marked and some of the questions are multiple choice, but most of them require students to type out one to three word answers. Educake also helps students be more efficient about their revision. They can set themselves a test on any topic, and they can guide their decision with the Track Progress page, which shows them where their strengths and weaknesses are.
- Maths Watch
MathsWatch is the complete online Maths platform that makes learning available to students 24/7 from anywhere in the world. Videos, online assessments, feedback tools, independent learning, printable worksheets and so much more are all included to help develop students' mathematical skills.
- Seneca Learning
Seneca is a free online learning platform that students can use to help them study a wide range of subjects. The courses are linked to the exam boards at KS4 and KS5 used by the subjects they study and Seneca can learn the strengths and weaknesses of students and use this in the questions that it asks. Seneca presents learners with an animation, card or video based upon the topic that the learner is studying. It then asks them questions that relate to the card. It also gives learners quizzes and end of topic tests to better assess their current understanding. Students access Seneca using their school email and a password they set up. They must input an email of a parent or carer at the time of sign up.
- Pixl App for Key Stage 3 Maths and Key Stage 4 Maths, English Literature, Geography and History
The PiXL Apps’ are skills based assessment programs. The app successfully highlights students strengths and their areas to develop. This is a very useful and accurate tool to use prior to any test to help rank which revision topics are of the most importance. The app is setup in such a way to guide you through a wide range of topics and it suitably matches the AQA, Edexcel or OCR schemes of learning for KS4.
- BBC Bitesize for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
Bitesize is one of the BBC's most successful online brands and the cornerstone of their formal learning content. The family of sites helps students aged 11 to 16 years with their coursework, homework and exam preparation. The sites provide "bitesized" interactive content, video and audio summaries and mock exams.
- The Oak National Academy has live lessons which match many of the topics being studied in school
Oak National Academy was created in April 2020 as a rapid response to the coronavirus outbreak. Many teachers and colleagues from leading education organisations came together to support schools’ efforts to keep children learning. At the moment there are nearly 10000 free video lessons, resources and activities, covering most subjects, for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Linguascope for MFL
Linguascope is a website which allows you to be fully immersed in a foreign language in a fun and engaging manner. You can develop your language skills in Listening, Reading and writing through a range of activities. It also helps you to consolidate your knowledge of grammar and pronunciation. The games and challenges range from absolute beginner to intermediate level and can be completed in over ten languages.
- Quizlet for MFL
Promotes self study to learn vocabulary and concepts in manageable chunks and interactive tools and games. It helps them to practise and master what they are learning.
- Active Learn for MFL
Active Learn is a digital learning platform for students and develops all skills, including translation and contains a variety of teaching, planning and assessment support. It creates a personalised teaching and independent learning experience both in and outside the classroom.
- Audiopi for Sixth Form History
Audiopi consists of podcasts for all of our A-Level History topics. These can be used for revision and to consolidate knowledge of work taught in class.
- Historical Association
This can be used by KS4 and KS5 History students for further reading and podcasts.
