Fingerprint Scanning, Use of ParentPay and Purchasing Food and Drink
When the College re-opens in September 2020 students will be unable to bring cash into school to credit their cashless catering accounts. These machines will not be operational for health and safety reasons. PARENTS ARE ASKED TO ALWAYS CREDIT ACCOUNTS USING PARENTPAY. If you do not currently use ParentPay, please email the Finance Office (firstname.lastname@example.org) to request a User Name and Password prior to the start of term.
Students will remain with their own respective Year Groups at break and lunchtimes and will use designated areas. Students will sanitise on entry to all food servery areas and additional sanitising will be at till points. Students will still use their fingerprint to pay for their purchases in school.
A limited, reduced menu will be offered and all food will be individually wrapped prior to purchase in line with industry standard guidance the College caterers are operating within. Students can of course bring their own packed lunches into school which should be eaten in their Year Group’s respective social spaces. In these cases we would welcome parent support in ensuring students have their own sanitiser with them where possible.
Please note that students will also not be able to check their balances on the machines in school therefore it would help us if you could ensure your son / daughter knows how much they have on their account to spend each day.
Students will have two breaks throughout the day, however there is only one opportunity to purchase food and drink. This is due to the requirement to maintain Year Group bubbles and a limited capacity of canteen facilities. It is therefore strongly recommended that students bring a bottle of suitable drink and snacks to tide them through the school day. Due to health and safety guidance, water fountains on site will be turned off and there is NO access to refill water bottles as there was before.
All procedures will be reviewed on a regular basis in light of Government guidance.
