Hi my name is Eve Greenaway and this is my first Comenius blog. I am going to be telling you about what I did during my half term holiday.
Saturday 11th – Sunday 12th February.
On the Saturday I drove down to Walton on the Naze. This is where most of my family live. I went there because it was my great uncle’s 80th birthday and we were all celebrating by going out for a meal. We had the meal in a restaurant, the food was delicious. When we were walking back to my grandparent’s house my family and I had a big snowball fight. When we got back we watched TV and played some games. After a while everybody said goodbye. But because my name Nan lives so far away I stayed at her house for the night.
On the Sunday I woke up, had breakfast and I went for a walk along the beach. It was very cold so I had to wrap up warm but the beach was really nice and peaceful. When I got back from the walk I had lunch at my Nan’s then we drove back home.
Monday 13th February.
Today I went into town with my best friend Betty. My mum dropped us both in town. I was trying to find an outfit to wear to a friend’s party. We went in lots of different shops called: Topshop, River Island and loads more but I couldn’t find anything. For lunch I went to McDonalds and had some fries, a coke and a big Mac. It was very tasty! After I had finished shopping my mum took me and Betty back to my house where we made mars bar cake.

Today I went school. It was the first day back after the holiday. I had P.E. (Physical Education) and History first. The rest of my day was okay but not massively great. Also at school I started my rotation of cooking in Technology.
When I got home I watched a little bit of television after getting changed out of my school uniform and into casual clothes. I had soup for my tea. Then I watched some more television. I went to bed at nine o’clock. I brushed my teeth before getting in to bed. I then set my alarm for half past six the next morning.

20th February 2012
Hi! I’m Lauren Howarth and I’m twelve years old, thirteen in August. My favourite colours are blue and green!
Well, today was our first day back at school after half term. That’s when we have a week off school. Term break is when you get 2-3 weeks off school. It ended too quickly. Over half-term I was in Ireland with all my cousins, aunties and uncles, and my granny.
Now we are back at school, I have to wake up at 7:30 am. School doesn’t officially start until 9:00, but we have to be in our form classes by 8:45. I cycle to school; it’s about one and a half miles there, and the same back.
I went to my locker with my friends, and we went to the canteen. My friend was hyperventilating because she might be going to see the group, ‘One Direction’ (LUCKY!) and so we were all laughing at her. When we went into our form class, we had uniform and equipment check, and then we went to first lesson.
First lesson was Drama, and we had to watch a film of ourselves, it was REALLY embarrassing. The second lesson was Geography, that was quite fun, well, sort of. Then we had break, then German, PE (Physical Education), then lunch, Science and Dance.
I’ve got to go now, I’ll write again soon!

Friday 24th February
Today it is 10 months until Christmas Eve. I have been back at school for a week now, but today was a collapsed day which means we do not have ordinary lessons. Instead people came in to talk to us about how to be safe on the interne. It was really good and I learnt a lot.

Thursday 1st March 2012
Today was another school day so I had to wake up at 7:30 again.
When I got to school I walked in with my friends and we went to our lockers. Then we had assembly, which we have every Thursday. We then had English and we are reading a book at the moment. It is very interesting. Then we had Science and we were revising for a big test we have tomorrow.
After a 15 minute break we had Citizenship where we got to go into the computer suite and research special celebrations in different cultures. Then we had History where we learnt about an English civil war. It was very good.
Then we got a 50 minute lunch break and we just sat around and chatted (talked) a lot.
For the last two lessons we had Maths and Art; those two lessons were very good. In Art we drew still life and in Maths we did shape work.
Then after school we went to the library and did homework.
That’s all that happened today.
Betty Porter’s blog
Hello, my name is Betty Porter. I am 12 years old and live in Peterborough in the United Kingdom. I have a Mum, a Dad, a Sister and a Brother. My hobbies are: Running, listening to music and spending time with my family and friends. I also like a county called Essex, which is about a two hour drive away from where I live. Lots of my family live there so I visit there quite a lot. I am also a big fan of the famous athlete, who you might have heard of, Usain Bolt! I like him because of how hard he works and how much he has achieved in such a small amount of time.
We have just recently had half term at our school, which is when you have a week off from school. During this holiday, I visited Essex, to see all of my family whom I haven’t seen in a while!
On Wednesday, I visited a place called Milton Keynes for the day with my sister and mum. We went shopping in the morning and then went to see a ballet ‘The Nutcracker’ which is produced by a famous English choreographer, Matthew Bourne. We also, visited the old town of Stamford, to go shopping again, which we all really enjoyed.
I have also seen my best friend Eve (whom I have known for almost 10 years!) for a lot of the holiday. On Wednesday we both went to a party together and I stayed that night at her house and was there for most of the next day too!
Today is my birthday and I have been really excited. I got lots of presents and food and my class sang ‘Happy Birthday!’ to me!
When I got home that day my grandparents came round for a party and we enjoyed a Chinese style meal. Although it was my birthday, on this day I still had to attend all of my six lessons! First I had Maths which I don’t really like because I find it quite difficult. Then we had I.C.T, which I really enjoyed as we are making our own video game. After that, I had English and German, then Art. They were all really boring! Worst of all… a science test with Mr Foxton!
My family woke me up this morning and said they were taking me somewhere for a birthday surprise! We were going for a day trip to London (our capital city). We visited and rode on the London Eye. The London Eye is a landmark in London and is like a big wheel. Then I found out that I was going to ‘Madame Tussaud’s.’ I was really excited as I have never visited this place before. ‘Madame Tussaud’s is a place where they keep wax models and mannequins of celebrities and important people. But these wax models look almost identical to the real person! I had photos taken with Robert Pattinson, Zac Effron, and Justin Bieber. I thoroughly enjoyed today and will remember it for a long time to come.

Towards our project we have been doing some work on our Comenius corner and have been doing some research on your home countries. We are very much looking forward to seeing you all. We are going to put on a great assembly for you to welcome you and to tell you all about us and our school. It is surely an honour to meet you all in person and find out what you have been doing. We have seen all of your videos; they were very interesting.
We all think that your English is very good! I am also learning Spanish in my French class. In my Geography lessons I have been learning all about Italy and its size and population. We hope that you are all as excited as we are to meet you and to learn all about our school! We also hope that you enjoy your stay!
