Arthur Mellows Village College

Delivering learning for life within an aspirational culture

About Us

Head of College’s Introduction

As Headteacher of Arthur Mellows Village College, it is my privilege to welcome you and briefly introduce you to the College.

Our school community is built on the values of Respect, Responsibility and Excellence values that are lived daily by our students and staff and visible in classrooms, corridors and beyond. It runs through all that we do.

We were delighted to receive the outcome of our most recent Ofsted inspection in May 2025. Inspectors described a culture where students are supported, taught, and cared for to an exemplary standard. They highlighted the character of our students and the purposeful feel of the College stating that “Pupils’ conduct is excellent” and that “Classrooms are calm, focused places where pupils work hard and show pride in their learning.”  They also described the quality of our personal development provision as “exceptional.”

We have high expectations because we want the best for all who attend our College. This was also recognised by Ofsted who observed that “Leaders are highly ambitious for all pupils” and, as a result “Parents and staff are overwhelmingly positive about the school and the difference it makes to pupils’ lives.” These comments speak to a partnership with families and our wider community that we value deeply.

Alongside strong academic teaching, including a broad, well-supported curriculum and a thriving sixth form all enhanced by first rate accommodation and resources, students enjoy rich opportunities in sport, the arts, leadership, volunteering, and trips that broaden horizons. We believe education should open doors: to further study, apprenticeships, employment and, above all, to become confident, compassionate and kind young people.

I hope you enjoy exploring our website to see more of Arthur Mellows in action. If you are considering us for your child, we look forward to welcoming you to one of our events and showing you our College at its best. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us so we can help you further.
