CCF Summer Camp 2026

What a fantastic week at CCF Summer Camp!

Over the course of last week, our cadets challenged themselves both physically and mentally, developing new skills, building confidence and working together as a team

The camp began with a range of military skills training before heading to the adventure activities at Mills Water, Kingsmill, where cadets pushed themselves outside their comfort zones and developed resilience, teamwork and leadership.

With heat challenging the cadets and the staff on a daily basis, the cadets showed great responsibility and maturity keeping themselves protected and well-watered throughout the activities and challenges.

The excitement continued with a day on the ranges, giving everyone the opportunity to improve their marksmanship, before putting their training into practice during a field exercise. Cadets took part in patrols, established harbour areas, carried out ambushes and practised section attacks, applying everything they had learned throughout the week in realistic scenarios.

We rounded off the camp with a competition involving both drill and shooting. Competing against 15 other schools, our cadets achieved an excellent 6th place out of 16 schools—a fantastic result that reflects their hard work, determination and teamwork throughout the week.

We returned home suitably tired, with plenty of muddy kit to clean, but also with far more knowledge, confidence and experience than we had when we arrived.

A brilliant week was had by all. Well done to every cadet for representing Arthur Mellows Village College CCF with pride - you should all be incredibly proud of your achievements!
