First Lego League Competition

First Lego League Competition (Unearthed): Sunday 18 January 2026
On Sunday 18 January 2026, our team of budding Archaeologists began their journey to try and win the regional First Lego League Competition. During the day the team had to
1.     Present their Archaeology project to a team of professional engineers
2.     Demonstrate how they successfully built and coded their robot
3.     Complete a teamwork challenge to find buried artifacts
4.     Competed in four robot challenge games on the FLL mat
The day was full of successes and a few not so successful challenges. At the end of the day, the team were awarded a major trophy, commending them on their Robot Design and their presentation of the iterations used in the development process.
Overall, the team were not successful in winning the whole of the challenge and progressing to the UK final, but they are to be congratulated on a job well done.
The team were: Christopher Hobbs, Alex Cartwright, Leo Lawrence-Clarke. Evan Izzo-Nursey, Ewan Rorison, Lewis Edge, Bruce Smalley, Harvey Bowering and Lucas Tirant Vel Mingo.
