Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award

Our Year 10 students who had signed up for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award this year completed their qualifying expedition in June 2025. Here are some highlights.
'We began the walk at a steady pace enjoying the scenery and getting to know each other better!!!'
'Our walk continued, we walked through a pretty nature reserve and met some horses along the way. We then stopped for a lunch break and ate some nice cold ration packs and cereal.'
'After making it to the checkpoint we kept walking, the temperature kept on rising so we took a short break to take on some water and wipe our horribly sweaty backs!!'
'With a final stretch we completed our day one walk. Unfortunately, our phones were taken when we got to camp so we were unable to get photos of our evening, however we enjoyed cooking and playing cards together, helping each other set up tents, playing silly games like tag racing, and finally resting up for the next day!!!'
'As we carried on walking, we got to see the stunning views, however the hills were not the most pleasant!'
'And just like that we were on the final stretch to our end destination where we finally got to take a proper break and rest our feet! We all really enjoyed spending time in Rutland, seeing all the views, and getting to know each other better, it was a great experience and we hope to do our Silver Award next year.'
