ARTHUR MELLOWS VILLAGE COLLEGE – PROSPECTIVE PARENTS’ EVENING 

THURSDAY 12 OCTOBER 2023, 6.15 pm

On behalf of the Governors, staff and students, I am writing to invite you to the Open Evening for Year 6 children and their parents which will be held at Arthur Mellows Village College on Thursday 12 October 2023.  

At Arthur Mellows Village College we pride ourselves on being a warm, friendly, and successful school, as recognised in our last two Ofsted inspections, where we were judged to be ‘Outstanding’.  Traditionally, our students perform very well and are fully supported and equipped to successfully move onto their next stage.  We were again delighted with the excellent levels of attainment and progress achieved in GCSE, A Level and Vocational qualifications this summer.  Our staff and students are excited to welcome you to Arthur Mellows on one of our most important days of the year.

The evening is designed for parents and their children who will be commencing secondary education in September 2024.  The format of the evening is that the Head of College will make presentations at 6.30 pm and 7.15 pm and will be accompanied by a selection of students from various Year Groups.  As this evening generates a high degree of interest, the presentations are likely to be extremely busy and seating will be limited.  Parking is also at a premium.

Please note that the doors for this event will not open before 6.15 pm to allow departments time to be ready.

When touring the College, families will be free to walk around at their leisure and will be provided with an opportunity to view various departments, speak with subject teachers and Year 6 students will be invited to participate in department-based activities.

The Senior Leadership Team and many other staff will be available throughout the evening to answer any questions you may have.
